Established in 2012, XLam emerged as the pioneering supplier of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) in the Southern Hemisphere. Situated at the border of New South Wales and Victoria in Wodonga, their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility ensures efficient distribution networks across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. Notably, XLam has the capacity to manufacture and transport panels up to 3.44m x 15.7m across these regions via various transportation means.
While maintaining a core focus on CLT supply, XLam boasts a versatile team dedicated to championing the integration of mass timber into mainstream construction practices in Australia and New Zealand. To date, XLam has successfully completed over 1,000 projects throughout the Australasia region.
XLam’s PEFC certified, sustainably sourced radiate pine feedstock is secured through their sister company, Hyne, one of the country’s largest sawmillers. This collaboration ensures supply and pricing stability while optimizing wood fiber utilization from the log. In their CLT construction, XLam employs XLG1, a proprietary grade similar to MGP10, for the outer lamellas where timber grade significantly impacts panel performance. For the inner lamellas, they utilize XGP2, their proprietary grade similar to MGP6.
