Södra is Sweden’s largest forest owners’ association in sustainable forestry and forest products. Founded in 1938, Södra operates supporting a long-term, environmentally conscious approach to forestry, focusing on sustainable forest management practices that prioritize biodiversity, resource efficiency, and rural community development. Södra’s operations extend beyond forestry, including wood products, biofuels, and construction materials.

In the last decade, Södra has positioned itself as a leader in CLT production, aiming to expand the use of sustainable building materials. Their facilities offer a production using fossil-free energy generated on-site, resulting in CLT panels with one of the lowest carbon footprints on the market. Compared to traditional building materials like concrete, CLT can in general reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50%.

Södra’s CLT panels are made from FSC-certified spruce. The panels can be customized up to 3.5 meters in height and 16 meters in length, providing flexibility for large-scale applications, such as high-rise residential buildings, schools, and industrial halls. Advanced CNC machining technology allows precise cuts and pre-designed slots reducing on-site construction time and waste.
